Introduction to social media marketing – slides

I sometimes run courses in social media marketing for the Hastings Media Enterprise Centre, a University of Brighton initiative.

Yesterday I delivered a one day session in Brighton for the university, and I was asked to share the slides. I’m using Slideshare for the first time.

In the first part of the course we discussed the risks and rewards involved in social media marketing.

Some trainers might be concerned that by making their content freely available they risk theft and a loss of value. However a credible practitioner of social media marketing should surely conclude that the potential rewards outweigh the risks. I look forward to seeing how these slides fare in the public domain.

But in this instance I should also acknowledge that while there are lots of ideas and experiences shared in the course that are my own, there are also plenty of best practice case studies and social media marketing fundamentals that have been recognised and promoted by others already. So the content here is a remix anyway.
