Bus wankers! Tipping point trend among British youth
Posted on July 28, 2009 by Luke
“Me and my housemate def jam bus wankered some people the other day,” says Fleur on Facebook, waving her new dayglo Nikes out from her profile picture. She’s there with half-a-million other fans on the page ‘Bus Wankers‘.
As modern youth pastimes go it’s a fairly harmless one, though it’s spreading more quickly than swine flu on these isles.
The phenomenon is as follows: you are walking into town, or you are out for a run, or you are stood — eponymously — at a bus stop, and along comes a car, usually a sporty hatchback type, typically crammed with four or more people aged 17 to 24.
And as it goes past, a window slides down from the vehicle and out comes a bellowed insult.
The insult might be funny, aggressive, surreal or incoherent, but it will always be accompanied by a collective cackle and an eager examination from the car occupants. Your reaction is their pleasure.
Yes, people have been shouting out of their car windows for years.
But they have never shouted as much as they do today, and it quite probably could be the fault of cult Channel 4 show The Inbetweeners.
Watch the clip and then tell us below: have you been bus wankered recently? If so, did you laugh, wave your fist or keep a poker face?

Glad you defined this a bit. That means something that is always a felony in the United States.

Not happened to me yet, but you have me thinking of a response so that I’m ready when it does!

Although this does show the lack of tact and respect of British Youth Cullture labelling an innocent bystander with a bus wankers badge is pretty damn funny.
